Some of us are Atheist. Some are Jews. A few of us are Christian and aspire to act like Christians. We are Buddhist, Muslim, Pagan, more. Some of us are "other" in more way than one. We gather under the big tent of Unitarian Universalism, a mixed faith. All are welcome here. Even you. Even I. Unitarian, one God, Universalist, that God is love. Yet some of us don't "do" God, we do a different interpretation. Unitarian, one love. Universalist, one heart. One Love, One Heart, let's get together and feel alright. -KKCH

Easter & Alice...a Call to Worship

"Who are you?" said the caterpillar to Alice?

This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation, Alice thought, "I -- I hardly know, sir, just at present -- at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

"You must be mad", said the Cheshire cat to Alice!

"How do you know I am mad?"

"Alas, You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here." said the cat.

"I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir, because I'm not myself you see." Alice implored, "It’s all Curiouser and curiouser! I think I should understand better, if I had it written down: but I can't quite follow…."

"Oh poor Alice," said the King, "Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop."

"I quite agree with you" said the Duchess to the king, "and the moral of that is this: Be what you would seem to be, or if you'd like it put more simply: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise?"

“Maybe I am mad?” thought Alice.

Religion is like a rabbit hole, an abyss that often seems nonsensical, and we are like Alice, looking to find the answers. Who are you?

Some of us are Atheist. Some are Jews. A few of us are Christian and aspire to embody the teachings of Jesus. We are Buddhist, Muslim, Pagan, more. Some of us are "other" in more way than one. All of us are welcome for who we are, or whom we appear to be.

We gather on this Easter Sunday, a time of renewal, rebirth, and recommitment; a time for Unitarian Universalism. All are welcome here. Even you. Even I. Unitarian Universalists wonder is everything wonderland when looking through the looking glass? And endeavor to ask why do we paint the roses red? Today, believing in the power of play we create the holy. Today, with Flower Communion we create the sacred. With painted eggs, and roses red, hymns, the Queen and off with her head….Today we simply say as we say every Sunday.

Welcome Home.
